About Alaska
Accommodations range from deluxe hotels in Anchorage and Fairbanks to picturesque rustic inns, log cabins, bed-and-breakfasts, small hotels and motels, and campgrounds. Most are clean and well-run, but expensive. Make reservations as much as a year in advance if you're going May-September—accommodations often fill up with cruise-ship and tour-company passengers. There are both public and private campgrounds but the public ones don't accept reservations, so arrive early.
