Sandals Resorts International is expanding to St. Vincent
and the Grenadines, where the company will open its fourth Beaches resort.
The company acquired the shuttered Buccament Bay Spa and
Resort, which closed in 2016 after just five years in operation. Sandals deputy
chairman Adam Stewart said the property will undergo an extensive redo.
“Investing in St. Vincent and its captivating people was not
only compelling but also a natural next step for continued expansion within the
Eastern Caribbean,” said Sandals founder and chairman Butch Stewart.
Sandals said the St. Vincent deal has been in the works for
almost a year. The company did not say when the resort would open.
The Beaches brand has two resorts in Jamaica (Ocho Rios and
Negril) and one in Turks and Caicos.
