Club Med has set a December opening for its Club Med Kiroro Grand all-inclusive ski resort in Hokkaido, Japan.
The 266-room property is located a 3-minute gondola ride from sister property Club Med Kiroro Peak, which opened last year.
The Club Med Kiroro Grand will offer guests access to 23 courses of varying levels and off-piste ski slopes across the Asari and Nagamine mountains, with unlimited ski-in/ski-out privileges, lift passes and group ski and snowboard lessons included as part of the stay.
In addition to skiing, the resort will offer other winter sports activities as well as cultural excursions, including day trips to the coastal town of Otaru.
The property will be home to Club Med's first traditional Japanese onsen, which will feature a wellness lounge with a sauna and a hot stone room, a Club Med Spa, an indoor swimming pool and several Japanese-inspired restaurants.
The Club Med Kiroro Grand and Club Med Kiroro Peak join the Club Med Sahoro Hokkaido, Club Med Tomamu Hokkaido and Club Med Kabira Ishigaki in Okinawa within Club Med’s Japanese all-inclusive portfolio.
The Japanese expansion comes as Club Med ramps up enhancement efforts across properties in other regions. The company recently completed an extensive renovation and expansion project at its Club Med Punta Cana resort in the Dominican Republic and has also embarked on a refresh of its Club Med Buccaneer's Creek property in Martinique, which will include updates to the resort’s rooms, reception area and main restaurant and bar.
