Margaritaville plans to open its first mountain resort, the Margaritaville Resort Lake Tahoe, at the end of this year.
Margaritaville is reflagging the Lake Tahoe Resort Hotel in South Lake Tahoe, Calif. The hotel is currently undergoing a multimillion-dollar revamp.
Located near the base of South Lake Tahoe's Heavenly Mountain Resort, the 399-room property is expected to debut as a Margaritaville resort in time for the 2023-2024 ski season.
The resort's updated guestrooms will be outfitted with natural color tones and pops of green, while the refreshed, atrium-style lobby will feature the brand's signature 13-foot flip-flop as well as a double-sided fireplace and margarita glass chandeliers. The atrium area will also be home to a License to Chill Bar.

Other culinary highlights: a LandShark Bar & Grill with indoor-outdoor seating, a Joe Merchant's coffee shop, a breakfast venue called Come Monday Café and a high-end JWB Prime Steak and Seafood restaurant.
Guests will have access to an indoor heated pool, which will have sliding doors leading out to a patio with mountain views.
The Margaritaville Resort Lake Tahoe will be the flag's fourth hotel in the Western U.S., joining the Margaritaville Resort Palm Springs, the Compass Hotel by Margaritaville Medford in Oregon and the soon-to-open Margaritaville Hotel San Diego Gaslamp Quarter.
The Margaritaville brand has more than 30 hotels and resorts in its portfolio.
