About North Carolina
Visitors to North Carolina will find the full range of accommodations, from deluxe hotels in the major cities to campgrounds, chain motels, bed-and-breakfasts, country inns and resorts elsewhere in the state. (Be aware that some accommodations are seasonal.) Along North Carolina's 300-mi/485-km seashore, you'll also find private homes, cottages, condominiums and oceanfront furnished villas to rent—often including access to golf, tennis and freshwater pools. A few coastal hotels have marinas or boat docks. Inland, resorts range from golf resorts (especially at Pinehurst) to guest ranches (with individual cabins, horseback riding and hiking) to hotels or luxury villas set in the mountains (often with lakeside beaches, tennis, golf, health clubs and scenic views).
