Bookings for the Viking Sobek, slated to debut in Egypt in 2025, are now available, as Viking cites heightened demand for Nile River sailings.
Travelers can now book departures for the inaugural season of the Viking Sobek, as well as 2026 departures, ahead of the ship's launch in less than two years.
The company said its 2024 Egypt season is nearly sold out and that continued strong demand for the 2025 season has led the company to open departure dates for 2026 earlier than usual.
The 41-stateroom Viking Sobek will be the company's sixth ship to sail on the Nile River, joining its sister ships Viking Osiris, Viking Aton and next year's Viking Hathor, along with the Viking Ra and the MS Antares, which is a ship that Viking charters.
The Viking Sobek will sail the company's sole itinerary in Egypt, the 12-day Pharaohs & Pyramids journey. The itinerary spends three nights in Cairo to visit sites including the Great Pyramid of Giza, the necropolis of Saqqara and Mosque of Muhammed Ali before guests fly to Luxor to embark on their 8-day roundtrip cruise that will make stops in Esna, Qena and Aswan.
