American Airlines has entered into a codeshare partnership with Philippine Airlines.

Under the arrangement, American customers are able to book Philippine-operated flights onward from Tokyo to Manila and Cebu, a gateway city for beach vacations. American will also codeshare on Philippine-operated flights to Manila from Honolulu and Guam.

Conversely, Philippine is codesharing on American-operated flights from Los Angeles to Atlanta, Denver, Houston, Las Vegas, Miami, Orlando and Washington, D.C.

Philippine flies twice daily to Los Angeles from Manila as well as daily from Guam and approximately five times per week from Honolulu.

Though not part of the codeshare deal, the carrier also serves San Francisco daily and flies three or four times per week to JFK.

"The Philippines is one of the fastest growing economies in Asia, and we look forward to continuing to enhance our partnership with Philippine Airlines," said Anmol Bhargava, American's vice president of global alliance.
