The Aurora Anguilla Resort & Golf Club will host the annual Anguilla Culinary Experience on May 23 to 26.

The four-day event will offer chefs' dinners, resort parties, beach barbecues and cooking competitions. The festival, in its third year, kicks off with A Taste of Aurora on May 23 at the resort's D Richard's Steakhouse and will include offerings from the resort's six restaurants: Tokyo Bay, Oliva, D Richard's, Chef's Table, Breezes and C Level.

Tickets for the event are priced at $180 per person. The following day, the festival will host a Barefoot Beach Dinner at Maundays Bay that will include live music and interactive food stations by Bruno Carvalho, executive chef at Cap Juluca, a Belmond Hotel that enable guests to customize their food selections. Tickets for that event are $250 per person.

Chefs from other resorts on the island -- the Four Seasons Resort & Residences Anguilla, Zemi Beach House, Malliouhana and Villa Alegria -- as well as the restaurants Veya Anguilla and Savi Beach Club will also participate.

The ACE Beach BBQ and Basket Battle will take place on May 26 at the Anguilla Great House Beach Resort on Rendezvous Beach. Contestants will cook head-to-head in a mystery basket competition, while local master grillers serve up signature barbecue. Tickets are $25 for guests age 13 and older ($10 for ages 6 to 12; free for 5 and younger) and include one free rum punch or soft drink. Optional food and drink tickets are available online.

Other activities include a johnny cake-making class ($55 per person) and a tour of seaside bars via open-air Moke vehicle with a driver ($160, includes one drink per stop).

A portion of the festival's proceeds will be used to fund educational programming for the island's next generation of chefs, bartenders and hospitality professionals and the Anguilla National Culinary Team.
